BREAKING NEWS
MEET MR. DEEDS
Standing 10 feet tall and weighing in at 700 pounds of fluffy, cuddly Sharpei love, we would like you to meet, Mr. Deeds. A generous donor gifted us this bundle of joy in 2021. With grateful hearts, we pass along the L-O-V-E by having him by our side while working in our warehouse, on service days and events.
Mr. Deeds receives a lot of love and photo opportunities from our staff, volunteers and clients who cannot help but smile, snuggle and be joy-filled in his presence.

Mr. Deeds spends his free time on his giant, mobile pooch pad either inside our warehouse, at events, or tethered outside a few feet away. At least, until November 5, 2024, when Mr. Deeds was stolen by a group of bandits. Fortunately, the story did not end there.
With the help of our office neighbors, property management, the media, our followers on social media, the police and quick action from our staff, not only was Mr. Deeds found but also the bandit ring-leader was arrested.
On November 15, 2024 we were able to bring Mr. Deeds home. Bringing home a face down, 700 pound, 10 foot tall stuffed dog crammed in a landscape-type trailer is no easy feat. Transitioning from an impound lot to bringing Mr. Deeds home took a community of bold, caring and giving individuals: Our tipsters, Austin and Shaun, who also transported Mr. Deeds home, AutoZone employees, our staff, news stations, social media, Ewing Brothers Towing and the use of their crane, and Metro’s Community Operations Unit, Mr. Deeds was returned.
A bit tattered, torn and with his pooch pad nowhere to be found, Mr. Deeds is resting comfortably until we can give him the spa refresh and repair day he so desperately requires.
In recent days, Mr. Deeds and our team as his extension, have experienced a tremendous amount of unplanned, seemingly unfair resource drain and distraction, feelings of stress, fear, disbelief and surprise - perhaps not so different from you or those you know.
We are unable to express our gratitude, joy and love for our community. Being a Southern Nevada based nonprofit organization whose mission is committed to improving living conditions for families with limited resources through renovations and other services, it is not usual to have the community come to restore us - and yet that is a bit of what we experienced. We are beyond words and forever changed from this outpouring of support. Thank you.
Mr. Deeds’ recent adventure has once again shown evidence to us, to those who partner with us through following us on Instagram and Facebook, to those volunteering with us and to those donating to us that Community Matters. Community involvement and generous giving of resources allows us to expand our Building Hope and Delivering Hope programs which are just two of the ways we help our clients with safe and healthy living.
Please consider partnering with us today by interacting with us on social media, passing along our mission to others, volunteering and donating.
THANK YOU!
